Dissipative Systems

چکیده
We shall study a special class of systems called dissipative systems. Intuitively, we can think of systems interacting with the surrounding via some input / output ports, exchanging power with the surrounding, storing some energy and dissipating some. For example, electrical systems exchange power with the surrounding via an inner product between the current and voltage, i.e., Pe = v i. Energy in these systems may be stored in capacitors and/or inductors in the form of voltage or current, respectively. Another example is mechanical systems; these systems may by supplied with linear and/or rotational power, i.e., Pm = ωT or Pm = vF , where v is the velocity, F is the applied force, ω is the rotational speed, and T is the applied torque. This supply may be stored in the form of potential and/or kinetic energy. In what follows, we shall provide a solid foundation for such supply and storage concepts that allows us to describe systems from an input-output perspective.

Dilations, models, scattering and spectral problems of 1D discrete Hamiltonian systems
In this paper, the maximal dissipative extensions of a symmetric singular 1D discrete Hamiltonian operator with maximal deficiency indices (2,2) (in limit-circle cases at ±∞) and acting in the Hilbert space ℓ_{Ω}²(Z;C²) (Z:={0,±1,±2,...}) are considered. We consider two classes dissipative operators with separated boundary conditions both at -∞ and ∞. For each of these cases we establish a self...
متن کاملA Dissipative Integral Sliding Mode Control Redesign Method
This paper develops a new method of integral sliding mode control redesign for a class of perturbed nonlinear dissipative switched systems by modifying the dissipativity-based control law that was designed for the unperturbed systems. The nominal model is considered affine with matched and unmatched perturbations. The redesigned control law includes an integral sliding-based control signal such...
متن کاملStationary states of dissipative quantum systems
In this Letter we consider stationary states of dissipative quantum systems. We discuss stationary states of dissipative quantum systems, which coincide with stationary states of Hamiltonian quantum systems. Dissipative quantum systems with pure stationary states of linear harmonic oscillator are suggested. We discuss bifurcations of stationary states for dissipative quantum systems which are q...
متن کاملDissipative Systems: From Physics to Robust Nonlinear Control
In this paper we explore connections between the underlying physics of dissipative systems and nonlinear robust control. In particular, we concentrate on the problem of stabilizing stationary solutions of nonlinear dissipative systems with states distributed in space. Dissipative systems are equipped with an entropy function which we employ to relate dissipation with the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman...
متن کاملWeakly dissipative systems in Celestial Mechanics
We investigate the dynamics associated to nearly–integrable dissipative systems, with particular reference to some models of Celestial Mechanics which can be described in a weakly dissipative framework. We start by studying some paradigmatic models provided by the dissipative standard maps in 2 and 4 dimensions. The dynamical investigation is performed applying frequency analysis and computing ...
متن کاملThe Hamiltonian Formalism for Dissipative Mechanical Systems
In this paper show that dissipative mechanical systems can be represented as Hamiltonian formalism. We have defined an expanded Hamiltonian function that leads to a unique conservative system for every phase flow of a dissipative mechanical system. We have demonstrated, whether the class of dissipative mechanical system has an analytical solution or not, it can be represented as an infinite num...
